An Email From The Heart

I read in the journal on Marshall's site that you wanted some
reflections and although I never spent time with Marshall
I feel as if I have through your loving memory of him. I
can only wish that my son feels the kind of love from his
Daddy and I that I'm sure Marshall felt from you and Mark.
In honor of Marshall and you on Mothers Day I would like
to contribute this "story" that was in my MOM'S
Club newsletter this month. I thought of you as soon as
I read it. Here's to you Laurie; may you keep loving your
little boy in that special way that only a Mother can!
Once upon
a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day he asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to Earth
tomorrow but how am I going to live there being so small and
helpless?"
God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you.
She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."
"
But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing
and smile, that's enough for me to be happy."
God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile
for you everyday. And you will feel you angel's love and be
happy."
The child asked, "How am I going to be able to understand
when people talk to me if I don't know the language that they
talk?"
God replied, "Your angel will tell you the most beautiful
and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and
care, your angel will teach you to talk."
The child asked, "I've heard that on Earth there are bad
things, who will protect me?"
God replied, "Your angel will defend you even if it means
risking it's own life."
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices
from Earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry
asked
softly, "God, if I am about to leave please tell me my
angel's name."
God silenced all fear when he said, "Your angel's name
is of no importance. You will simply call her Mommy."
